Why Emergency Medical Services Levy?
South Kitsap Fire Rescue is a municipal Corporation organized in 1946 in
accordance with the Laws of the State of Washington. It is governed by an elected
Board of Fire Commissioners. As such it receives no funding from the State, County
or City of Port Orchard. The EMS Levy must go to voter approval every 6 years.
Proposition 1 reduces emergency response times by funding new and existing 24 hour
emergency response teams for our community.
